Rick Goldsmith was born in the East End of London and raised in Essex. He studied Fine Art. He has been a participatory film-maker with his own media company, Catcher Media, for nearly 30 years. Rick is an experienced scriptwriter who has performed his poetry and contributed to poetry magazines. A More Perfect World is his debut novel. Rick raised two daughters while living in Hereford with his wife, Julia.
With Catcher Media, Rick has worked across the UK, in Europe, Africa and India, with diverse groups ranging from school-children to prisoners, from academics to Malawian school-teachers. In his time he’s explored many social and health issues using creativity, video and scriptwriting. His co-written dramas for EasySRE were honoured with a prestigious national award. His video work is about being empathetic and listening to people’s stories, especially the young and disadvantaged. He feels these activities have enriched his first novel.
